If you are going to Bovec before or after your rafting trip, please pay attention to the following!
Every year more and more people visit the valley and especially during the high season (July-August) there are more and more problems where to park.
Please note: there is a 30 km/h speed limit in the hole town of Bovec!

Parking is still free in most parts of Bovec, with only one or two larger or more centrally located metered parking areas. However, it is very important to pay attention to the bans on parking, as this is regularly and severely monitored and penalised. Also, local residents have no patience with tourists parking on their own land or directly in front of their houses.
Parking in the center of Bovec around the Mercator, Bus Station from 1 April to 30 September from 7 am to 11 pm is charged (3€/h), but the first 1 hour is free. To do this, you need to print a ticket from the ticket machine using the 3 "Tiskaj" (print) button, indicating the date and time when the free parking expires.
Attention! If you press the language selection button, the machine will ask you to pay immediately!
The ticket must be placed in a clearly visible place in your car. All additional hours are subject to a fee, which you can pay at the ticket machine or use the Easy Park app.
The only vending machine is located next to the playground and the bus stop!
(The first hour is free only if you print a ticket from the machine, parking meters are not accepted)
In Bovec, there are several places where you can park for free, but only for a limited time, usually 1 hour. Remember to put your parking meter in a clearly visible place. They check!
Attention! The large car park next to the Merkator does not accept meters. Only tickets printed from the machine will be accepted!
Bovec Airport is just a 15-minute walk from the centre, where you can park for free and you're sure to find a space, even with a larger vehicle!
There is a barrier system to enter the shops' car parks and the first 1 hour of parking is free, with additional hours charged. When you enter, you have to take a ticket, which opens the barrier, and when you leave, if you are within 1 hour, you don't have to do anything but drive up to the barrier, the system automatically recognises your registration number and lets you out.
It is always worth checking whether your accommodation has its own parking, as there are many accommodations, including hotels, which have no or very little parking. Ask your accommodation provider for advice on where to leave your car.
